Roles in our team range from welding and fabrication, CNC machine operation, manufacturing quality, and process improvement, CAD Technicians, Sales, and more.

The Role

Platinum are looking for a new Import & Export Coordinator to join our wonderful logistics team at the Keighley site. You will be required to:

  • Book daily transport requirements with the freight forwarders providing accurate and timely information and documentation to enable successful goods exports
  • Working within the logistics team to ensure that all freight forwarders are communicated with in a consistent and clear manner, ensuring accurate customs declarations are made on our behalf
  • Liaising with freight forwarders to collect all relevant compliance paperwork relating to all the company’s imports and exports, both to the EU and outside of the ROW
  • Ensuring that there is a clear paper trail linking the company’s imports and exports to the underlying transactions (i.e. sales, purchases, supplier returns, customer returns)
  • Maintaining the collections and logistics email accounts and keeping the collections updated and accurate

Requirements

  • Previous experience of working in an export environment (essential)
  • IT literate and the ability to work proficiently with Microsoft (essential)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a demanding workload and meet strict deadlines, whilst upholding accuracy with a strong attention to detail (essential)
  • Administration experience (essential)
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently (essential)
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills/ ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written (essential)
  • Proactive and methodical approach to work with a ‘can do’ attitude (essential)
  • Basic understanding of export and import customs formalities (commodity codes, origin, compliance) (essential)
  • Basic understanding of how VAT works in and outside the UK (desirable)

Experience and Skills

  • Manage the daily despatch requirements ensuring accurate information is shared with key stakeholders with any changes notified out
  • Working with key stakeholders to ensure product adherence is achieved through daily sales order management liaising with manufacturing processes and updating and informing logistic providers and the Sales team of any changes
  • Maintaining a register of all the company’s imports and exports

Requirements

  • Must be able to TIG weld
  • Have experience in working with tube and mild steel
  • Consult drawings and sketches in order to build jobs to specification
  • Work to a standardised method
  • Measure and verify your builds
  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools
  • Shift work, Early or late shifts
  • Have good experience in fabrication

Experience and Skills

  • Welding Fabricator Certification
  • Previous stairlift rail and tube fabrication
  • TIG Welding and Fabrication
  • Use of grinding, drilling, bending equipment and range of finishing tools as part of their fabrication work experience
  • Numeracy skills sufficient to enable calculations, accurate measurement, and verification of dimensions
  • To report any unsafe act, occurrence, near miss and injury using the platinum stairlifts reporting process.
